Embrace diversity

Where you pull your strength from is a personal choice. ~SRB

The strength I am writing about is that of emotional strength. The strength that many people draw from their faith. Faith can come from many types of religions, or that faith may originate from the universe. Your strength may come may come from planting a vegetable garden. Perhaps you live in an area where you do not have the right to choose. Even if that is the case, what do you look to help guide you through your days?

The point is it does not matter where you find your strength, you are unique, and you have the choice to feel and believe in whatever it is you believe in.

Where do you pull your strength from? If you do not mind sharing, I would love to know and see how many different views we can come up with.

There is no doubt about it, religion and politics seem to divide people. I wish this weren’t the case, but people are passionate in what they believe in. This is okay. We have the right to be passionate in what we accept as truth.

And if you believe in the last statement I made, if people have the right to be passionate in what they believe in, should we also exhibit respect for what other’s believe?

What do you think would happen if we truly listened to someone’s else belief?

What is the purpose of dehumanizing someone for their belief? What will that solve?

We do not have to agree with everything a person has to say, but we can give them the common decency to respect their opinions.

Embrace difference, become connected, allow opinion, and practice respect for humankind.

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” ~ Audre Lorde
