Motivational Connection
"Believe in yourself, because I do."
Zentangle (R)
I am excited to share with you an idea that will help you in so many facets of your life. Part of habit change is finding someting you can connect to and will help you get through the hard times. Do not get freaked out! Even if you do not believe you are an artist or that you feel you have no artistic ability, rest assured, YOU do! I was told about Zentangle and it has been one of the best, fun, meditative, habit changing techniques I have ever done. I can get lost getting my Zentangle on for hours!!!!!!!!!
So what is this Zentangle I speak of? "The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to creat beautiful images by drawing structured patterns" (Zentangle, 2016). Like I said and like the website says, many people can take on this art form. We can use Zentangle for many purposes. Perhaps you need to learn how to relax, you feel the need to be inspired, you have anxiety issues, want to relieve stress, or want to be part of a group who thrives on creativy. The benefits of using the method of Zentangle are many and following this excerpt will be a link to the Zentangle site where you can find more information about the Zentangle method.
I did not take art classes in school nor my adulthood. I am creative, but never thought of myself as an artist. As you create using the Zentangle method, you will begin to see what I am expressing. My pieces evolved. I added my own photography, inspirational words, and quotes from other people. Truly, your creations are endless. Here are a few of my pieces of art using the Zentangle method:
This was a special Zentangle I chose to do for my father who passed away March 2015. I wrote a letter and drew a piece that came to me with words that helped me to get through the process of his death. Zentangle is a sense of meditation. This artistic style can take on many roles. This piece and the letter accompanied him on his next journey. I am grateful I took pictures to have these memories.
